"Poems have a beginning and an end, but as I read each poem I found myself wanting more. These powerful poems stirred a range of emotions within me. As a former white supremacist, the emotions I felt may have been somewhat different than most. Nonetheless, each sentence sparked a new feeling or…. an “awakening”. I have read many poems, but no poem has impacted me the way “So Long, Nigger Boy” or “The Puppet Masters” has. I would say it's because the words in these poems are true and delve deep into issues that not only stir the soul of the writer, but the reader!
